Charity Super.Mkt extends Cabot Circus pop-up following sales success

Multi-charity clothing store Charity Super.Mkt has extended its pop-up at Bristol’s Cabot Circus for an extra month, until 24 September, thanks to high customer demand.

Founders Wayne Hemingway and Maria Chenoweth's Bristol store showcases a revolving charity line-up refresh, including an eclectic mix of newly sourced clothing and accessories. The space also hosts local DJs every weekend, gift card voucher giveaways and accept pre-loved donations in-store.

Since opening just three weeks ago (20 July), the pop-up has already sold over 5,000 clothes, accessories and shoes with almost 500 items sold on opening night alone.

To provide more fundraising opportunities for local and national charities, the store has introduced five new charities this month: Shelter, Bath Cats & Dogs, GWAA, Weston Hospicecare and Havens Hospices, with volunteers already getting stuck in.

Wayne Hemingway, Co-Founder of Charity Super.Mkt, said: "One of the reasons we selected Cabot Circus for Charity Super.Mkt is that we knew Bristol embodied the concept of ‘circular economy’ and would understand our unique business model.

"Charity Super.Mkt is miles ahead when it comes to delivering purposeful retail and has so far been a huge success, meaning that the charities involved are raising thousands for good causes, and more and more customers realise the importance of sustainable shopping. This is just the start of our relationship with this great city!"

To celebrate,  the retailer will be hosting a free event on Thursday 10 August with vinyl DJ sets and a new curation of pre-loved items from luxury fashion houses to high street favourites.

The ‘department store for second-hand style’ is still on course to raise over £1 million for charity, having already reached £627,000 alone at Hammerson’s retail and leisure destinations, Brent Cross (London) and The Oracle (Reading).

Maria Chenoweth, Traid CEO and Bristol native, commented: "Bringing Charity Super.Mkt to Cabot Circus has been an amazing experience for us and the charities involved. The long queues on opening night showed that this is the right city for the concept and it’s been fantastic to see how customers are embracing charity fashion and shopping. We’re excited to be extending our stay in Bristol and can’t wait for customers to see for themselves the new collection curated by our new charities this month."
