Calvin Klein sets date for first co-ed show by Raf Simons

Calvin Klein is to merge its men's and women's catwalk shows and present them together on 10 February, the second day of New York Fashion Work. The show will be the first under its new creative director Raf Simons.

The American brand took a break from the runway last season opting instead for private appointments while Simons, who joined the house in August having stood down from Dior last year, settled into his new role.

It will be one of the most anticipated shows of the season and will give a view on the direction in which Simons wants to take the brand as its first sole creative director since the founder Calvin Klein himself exited the business following its acquisition by Philips Van Heusen in 2002.

Former womenswear creative director and menswear creative director Francisco Costa and Italo Zuchelli left in April after around 13 years in the business, which is when speculation began that Simons would be arriving to take full creative control.

His remit is one of the widest of any creative director in fashion and covers creative strategy of the Calvin Klein brand globally across the Calvin Klein Collection, Calvin Klein Platinum, Calvin Klein, Calvin Klein Jeans, Calvin Klein Underwear and Calvin Klein Home brands. Simons will also oversee all aspects of design, global marketing and communications, and visual creative services.

On top of this role Simons will continue to produce his own menswear label, which will be shown at New York Men's Fashion Week on 1 February. He previously showed his own line at Paris Men's Fashion Week.
