No sooner had Christopher Bailey presented his last collection for Burberry at London Fashion Week late this afternoon (17 February) than a capsule collection was made available to buy via Farfetch. In theory, given Farfetch's delivery options, some customers in London could have been sporting the items 90 minutes after they were seen for the first time on the runway.

The capsule collection featured a selection of re-issued pieces from Burberry's archive along with three tote bags in a collection that also featured the Rainbow Check - the latest iteration of the signature house check which was devised by Bailey to show Burberry's support for the LGBTQ+ communities.

Earlier this week Burberry and Farfetch announced a global e-commerce partnership, which would result in the full Burberry product itinerary being made available on the Farfetch platform. As part of the partnership the two businesses announced the new "Show to Door" initiative that meant the capsule collection would be available to buy via Farfetch for 24 hours after the collection was shown.

The show was Bailey's last for Burberry after 17 years as its creative lead. He announced he was standing down from his role as president and chief creative officer at the end of last year. He will leave the group's board next month and remain at the business for a transition period until the end of the year. His successor has yet to be named.
