Boohoo Group’s CIO confirms departure

Boohoo Group's Chief Information Officer Jo Graham has exited the online retailer after just three years at the business.

Graham joined the Manchester group in 2019 from Morrisons, where she was Technology Director. Prior to that she held several technology roles at Bupa and Leeds-based Capita.

In a statement on LinkedIn, Graham said: “It has literally been a blast, loved every minute of it and cannot begin to articulate the journey we have been on as a business and as a Tech team.

“The team are literally the best. They are capable, collegiate, authentic and know how to get the job done whilst having each other's backs and having fun! Leaving the team is always the hardest part and this one has been the absolute hardest. I am going to take some time off, super excited not to be in a retailer for peak...other than that just you watch this space as I will be back.”

Last month, Boohoo Group revealed a 13% fall in profits for the six months to 31 August 2022. The company expects profits to keep falling as cost-of-living pressures weigh on customer demand.

The firm, which owns Boohoo, Debenhams, PrettyLittleThing and Karen Millen, swung to a pre-tax loss of £15.2 million for the six month period, compared with a £24.6 million profit over the same period last year.

Boohoo Group has been reportedly cancelling and postponing orders from suppliers amid slowing sales for fast fashion and rising costs. A supplier in Leicester told The Sunday Times: "Boohoo has cancelled a load of orders. We are just here to do the fast stuff and when they don’t need it, they just stop it in its tracks."
