Bergdorf chief reportedly headed for Coach

Bergdorf Goodman president Joshua Schulman, whose imminent departure from the Neiman Marcus-owned upscale department store was confirmed this week, is believed to be headed to Coach.

Schulman, who is also president of Neiman Marcus Group International, which involves presiding over Munich-based multibrand luxury etailer Mytheresa.com, revealed only that he would be leaving to join a multinational fashion brand.

WWD reports the brand in question is Coach, which has British designer Stuart Vevers as its creative director. It is understood that Schulman would report in to Coach CEO Victor Luis and his arrival would appear to add weight to the rumour that the group, which also owns footwear brand Stuart Weitzman, is close to acquiring fellow US brand Kate Spade, which is up for sale.

Schulman has been with Bergdorf Goodman for five years and prior to that was CEO at British luxury footwear brand Jimmy Choo. He has also held senior roles at Gap and Yves Saint Laurent.
