Ben Sherman set to open trial store at London’s Coal Drops Yard

In what is the first move back into physical retail since Ben Sherman announced BSI Apparel as its new licensee in August 2023, with the aim "to prioritise full-price retail expansion across the UK", a one-year trial store is opening on 28 March 2024.

Located at 76 Coal Drops Yard in Kings Cross, the 1,038 sq ft space will stock the ‘Signature’ and ‘B by Ben Sherman’ collections, as well as the brand's upcoming limited-edition capsule collaborations.

It will be Ben Sherman’s first physical location in London since  its permanent Carnaby Street flagship closed in June 2020.

In a statement, the brand further cited its plans for more stores, with new permanent locations yet to be announced.

It reads: "The London pop-up store will be the first of such openings, followed by flagship stores across the country."

"Ben Sherman recently celebrated 60 years of an incredible legacy, ending last year with notable limited-edition collaborations in partnership with Rolling Stone and John Lennon. We now look forward to positive brand expansion as we open new stores."

The licensing deal revealed last August between Ben Sherman owner Marquee Brands and BSI Apparel, a subsidiary of UK-based Broadgate1960 - the parent company of Pringle of Scotland, Crew Clothing Company and Saltrock Surfwear - will see BSI Apparel produce and distribute men’s casualwear and tailored clothing to Ben Sherman’s numerous global distributors, as well as oversee the UK retail expansion and grow the wholesale business.
