Barbour brings pre-loved rental scheme to fields of Glastonbury

Barbour is bringing its famous waxed jackets to Glastonbury this summer, in partnership with Oxfam. For the first time, Barbour Re-Loved jacket rentals will be available on-site at the festival.

Barbour’s rental service consists of pre-loved jackets that have been upcycled. 'Re-loved' was first introduced in 2019 as a circularity initiative to extend the life of Barbour wax jackets.

Attendees will be able to rent a Barbour Re-Loved men’s or women’s wax jacket at Oxfam stores on-site. To rent, it's £45 per jacket for the full weekend rental. Customers then have the option to return their wax jackets at the end of the Festival or purchase them. All proceeds will be donated to Oxfam.

Every jacket for rent is pre-loved and has been cleaned, repaired and re-waxed by the Barbour team in South Shields in the North East of England. What’s more, each jacket is unique, with many featuring reused materials and fabrics from past Glastonbury Festival merchandise. Staying true to festival fashion, Barbour is also offering Re-Loved bucket hats for £39.

Paul Wilkinson, Group Commercial Director/Deputy Group MD of Barbour, said: "A key part of circularity is to keep products in use longer, thereby reducing impact per wear and the need for new resources. We believe that this rental scheme provides a very affordable and accessible service, enabling customers to easily rent jackets at the Festival should the weather be inclement or they just need a coat for chilly evenings."

Michael Lever, Oxfam’s Head of Festivals and Events, added: "We are so excited to be partnering with Barbour and Glastonbury on this brilliant, new initiative. Not only do the Re-Loved jackets look fantastic, but by recirculating clothes, we can help to reduce the demand for new clothes and in turn, help to reduce the damage to our planet.

"All the money raised through the Barbour Re-Loved scheme at Glastonbury will go towards Oxfam's crucial work to tackle poverty around the world - so festival goers can look and feel good at the same time."
