British outerwear brand Baracuta, which was acquired by Italian company WP Lavori in 2012, has launched its first dedicated womenswear collection for AW24, with the majority of products made in the UK.

The collection debuted at Pitti Uomo in Florence last week, though was only shown to VIP accounts and press. The main wholesale launch will be at this week’s Welcome Edition show in Paris, running from 18-21 January.

The collection features 40 pieces in "typical Baracuta style", with various takes on rainwear, including checked macs and belted wool trench coats, and the brand’s famous G9 harrington jacket, including a cropped version. The brand’s Fraser Tartan also features prominently on coat and jacket trims, as well as on knitwear.

A spokesperson for Baracuta said: "We believe that now is the perfect time to show a collection for women who, like our menswear customers, appreciate the values, craftsmanship, heritage and all elements that make Baracuta iconic.

"Moreover, more than 20% of our online consumers are women as it is, and we would like them to enjoy something unique and special."
