Atterley goes live in new guise as independents marketplace

The new look Atterley has now gone live in its new guise as a marketplace for independent retailers and brands.

The business was founded in 2012 as a multi-brand retailer by former Jigsaw designer Katie Starmer-Smith and business partner Edward David. However, despite receiving £2m backing in 2014 including investment from former Tesco chief Terry Leahy, it was placed into administration at this start of this year.

It was subsequently acquired by entrepreneur Michael Welch of The Welch Group who decided to turn it into a Farfetch-style marketplace for independent boutiques, initially focused on the UK.

The new-look site went live today and features collections from well-regarded independent boutiques such as Jules B, Black White Denim, Precious London, Question Air and Donna Ida. Brands stocked include American Vintage, Barbour, Crea Concept, Ganni, IRO, MSGM, Isabel Marant Etoile and Versace Collection among others.
