Canadian outdoor apparel brand Arc’teryx will be "significantly upsizing" to a new 8,000 sq ft store at 42 King Street in Covent Garden in early 2024.

Sitting adjacent to brands such as Glossier, Apple, Aēsop, and the iconic Covent Garden Piazza, Arc’teryx will deliver its full range of technical gear, footwear and accessories for a variety of outdoor sports, including mountaineering, climbing, hiking and skiing.

The new King Street store will follow the brand’s current retail format and design, with its existing store at 49 Long Acre continuing to trade until early next year.

Specialising in long lasting products crafted with high quality materials, Arc’teryx first opened in Covent Garden two years ago, delivering its first European concept to visitors and championing the brand’s most renowned designs.

Sven Radtke, EMEA General Manager at Arc’teryx, said: "The upsizing in Covent Garden is a very exciting step forward for Arc’teryx. We have seen a lot of success since opening two years ago and plan to open a bigger store to fully immerse our guests into an elevated experience of our brand.

"In this key location within London, the new store will showcase a wider range of products and services for our community to enjoy such as ‘ReBIRD’, our circularity program that focuses on the care and repair, and up-cycling of our products."

Michelle McGrath, Executive Director at London landlord Shaftesbury Capital, added: "Arc’teryx is a leader in the outdoor performance wear sector and having seen a strong performance from its first store in Covent Garden, we are excited to welcome its new enlarged concept on King Street.

The news of Arc’teryx’s new store signing follows the recent opening of performance footwear and apparel brand, HOKA, marking the brand’s first retail location in Europe.

Located on 2-3 James Street, the 1,750 sq ft flagship store showcases the full line of footwear, apparel, and accessories.
