Amazon's new voice-enabled assistant will rate your outfits

Amazon has unveiled "Echo Look" the latest product in its voice-enabled assistant range that will help consumers choose what to wear and will rate their outfits.

Like the other Amazon voice-enabled assistants Echo Look users can ask "Alexa" and converse with the device, but it also features a camera so it can "watch" as well as "listen" to them. Users can ask Alexa to take a short video so that they can view themselves from every angle or take a full-length picture (which can be saved to create a digital look book).

Amazon claims Echo Look's "depth sensing" cameras produce an image quality that is suitable for use on social media. It doesn't, however, feature a screen so users will need to pair it with the Amazon companion app on their phone to be able to see what the Echo Look device can see.

Users can then take advantage of the Style Check feature that uses machine learning and advice from fashion experts to rate the best of two outfits and the ratings will become smarter the more the feature is used. It will also offer suggestions on clothing to buy and drive the user to Amazon's shopping pages.

Priced at $199 the device is only available in the US by invitation only at present.
