Alexa Chung creates capsule collection for Superga

Alexa Chung has created a capsule collection for Italian footwear brand Superga, seven years after she first collaborated with the brand.

Chung's eight-piece capsule collection, which was carried out under the auspices of her own label alexachung, reimagines some of Superga's classic styles including the 2750, mid-cut and mule.

The designer, model and muse has introduced new textures and colours to Superga with a mix of satin, cotton, terry towel and varnish with a colour palette of off white, burgundy and sky blue.

"My mother wore Superga's when I was growing up so for me they've always been a classic shoe and something I have incorporated into my daily wardrobe for years now," said Chung of the brand.

"It has been wonderful to return to this brand as a designer working on a collaboration for this season because in the past Superga were one of the first companies to let me art direct a campaign for them. It feels a lot like coming home," she added.

Chung began working with Superga in 2011 and is also fronting the brand's campaign for SS18. Since beginning work with Superga she has gone on to create collections in partnership with AG Denim and Marks & Spencer and has established her own contemporary fashion label, which is sold via its own website and a number of premium multi-brand retailers. She is also co-founder of influencer-led shopping platform Villoid.

The Superga collaboration, priced from £72 to £85, is available on Chung's brand's website and at superga.co.uk.
