Icelandic outerwear brand 66°North has appointed former Ganni CMO Jeppe Møller in a newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer, commencing in January 2024.

Justin Warren, most recently Vice President North America at Parajumpers, has also joined the brand as Sales Director for North America, to front the new 66°North US headquarters in New York.

The news comes ahead of Paris Men’s Fashion Week – running from 16-21 January 2024 – when 66°North will present the first collection under the stewardship of Creative Director Kei Toyoshima, who joined the brand at the end of 2022.

Møller will head up "all global markets revenue channels", including merchandising and visual merchandising.

Having worked as a consultant for the last year, he will now take on a full-time role based out of Copenhagen, building out a new satellite head office in Denmark and working closely with the brand’s HQ in Reykjavik. He brings with him over 20 years experience in the clothing and retail industry, including 10 years with Ganni driving the Danish brand’s expansion.

Helgi Oskarsson, CEO of 66°North, said: "I have known Jeppe since 66°North first collaborated with Ganni back in 2018. I’ve always been impressed with his strategic thinking and his deep understanding of our industry.

"Jeppe has been working with us to sharpen our strategic focus for the coming years, and I am excited to have him now on board full-time to execute that strategy. Jeppe’s leadership values and team building skills align perfectly with our vision of continuing to strengthen our global team."

Jeppe Møller added: "I am honoured and beyond excited to be allowed into the legacy of 66°North, and the mystery of Iceland. The technical wear category has been developing significantly into lifestyle over the past years, and I believe 66°North has the legacy and positioning to continue to build authority in the performance space while reaching a broader audience on the global scene."

Justin Warren will oversee the establishment of the brand's New York office and the "strategic launch of wholesale in the market", while supporting the further development of e-commerce and retail channels in the US. He commented: "I'm grateful to be a part of a truly unique brand story. Through its Icelandic heritage, technical design, and commitment to circularity, 66°North has unlimited potential in the North American market. I look forward to contributing to the success of Iceland's first global brand."

Adding to the brand’s new appointments, Mike Massoulier Eriksen has joined the team based at the Copenhagen office as its newly appointed Head of Sales EMEA, reporting into Daníel Jónsson, the brand’s Global Wholesale Director.

Previously Head of Buying at Wood Wood, Eriksen will lead on developing the brand’s sales strategy, new business opportunities and onboarding new customers in his markets.

He said: "What I find compelling about 66°North is the brand's origin story and how it has maintained its DNA and primary purpose for nearly a century while evolving over time - not many brands can say that anymore. It is an honour to get the opportunity to push such a story to a global audience."

66°North, which was founded in Iceland in 1926, opened its European flagship store on Regent Street in London in November 2022, and currently has 28 wholesale stockists globally, including Harrods, Selfridges, END and Mr Porter.
