Watch: Highlights from Fashion Futures Forum in partnership with Avery Dennison

The Industry London
06 December 2018

From the movement to make then sell to making on demand, to the revolutionary potential of RFID, and the economic and environmental potential of switching to sustainable materials, the case for new ways of working for the fashion industry were discussed at the inaugural The Industry Fashion Futures Forum, in partnership with Avery Dennison last week.

As well as hearing from leading speakers from globally renowned brands, designers, emerging innovators and industry bodies, the 80 guests in attendance at White City House in West London also heard a rallying call from MP Mary Creagh, chair of UK Parliament's Environmental Audit Committee who told them the fashion "isn't sustainable as it is".

Our speakers included: Gemma Metheringham, chief creative officer, Label/Mix; Sandra Mertens-Lustig, joint managing director, Agent Provocateur; Maria Grachvogel; influencer Venetia Falconer; Marco Di Pietro of IdeaPura; Marks & Spencer project manager for RFID strategic development Zarah Adato; Jonathan Mitchell, founder of Brothers We Stand; Shafiq Hassan, co-founder of Ninety Percent; Designer Oliver Spencer; Head of Sustainability at Oliver Spencer, Bleue Burnham-Wickham; Tamsin Lejeune, CEO, Ethical Fashion Forum; and Wrangler director of sustainability Roian Atwood. Also joining the panels were Avery Dennison's Hannah White and Michael Kaufmann.
