Walker Slater targets high-end wholesale accounts with AW17 Messrs collection

Scottish brand Walker Slater has unveiled its AW17 collection, entitled Messrs, which it expects to increase its wholesale partnerships with high-end boutiques in the UK and overseas.

The youthful collection focuses on tailoring and outerwear and includes Harris Tweed suits with stretch, blazers in bright plains and intricate overchecks, leather jackets with creative detailing and rainwear with technical taped seams.

Featuring contemporary fits and a vibrant colour palette, to reflect Walker Slater’s Scottish heritage, the collection also includes a tonal range of 100% cotton shirts, new-wool knitwear, ties, bow ties and shoes.

Founder and lead tailor Paul Walker explained the approach to the collection: "The name ‘Messr’ comes from the legal terminology referring to the plural of Mister. Messrs’ inspiration comes from my love of sailing, incorporating colours of the sea and the rugged Scottish coastlines. The tailoring has been relaxed, shoulders softened and cloths chosen for their comfort and durability."

The Messrs collection complements the Walker Slater main line, which was launched in 1989 in the Scottish Highlands. Renowned for its bespoke collections and professional couture service, Walker Slater is a leading modern tweed specialist with stores and design studios in Edinburgh and London.

RRPs for the Messrs collection start from £95 for shirts, suits from £525, knitwear from £125, shoes from £175 and jeans, chinos and cords from £125.
