Valentino promotes Matteo Di Pasquale to Chief Human Resources Officer

Storied Italian fashion house Valentino has promoted Matteo Di Pasquale from Interim Chief Human Resources Officer, making the role permanent.

Di Pasquale joined the Roman couture house in 2021 in the role of Compensation and Benefits Director and was subsequently promoted last July after Rosa Santamaria Maurizio exited to join rival, Prada.

His position, which sees Di Pasquale report to CEO Jacopo Venturini, became permanent on 1 January 2024.

Di Pasquale joined Valentino in 2021 with a strong track record in HR departments, previously working for Accenture and Hay Group, Mercedes-Benz and AbbVie.

Last July, luxury conglomerate Kering took a 30% shareholding in Valentino in a €1.7 billion deal that gave it the option to take 100% control.

The deal is part of a wider strategic partnership between Kering and Valentino owner Mayhoola, which could lead to the Qatari investment firm becoming a shareholder in Kering.

Shortly after, there was a C-suite reshuffle at the Italian house. In July, Chief Brand Officer Alessio Vannetti exited, returning to Gucci in a similar role. He followed fellow Valentino alumni Sabato De Sarno to Gucci, who is the current Creative Director.

Valentino also named Laurent Bergamo as Chief Commercial Officer, Andrea Cappi as Chief E-commerce and Omnichannel Officer and Yigit Turhan as Chief Marketing Officer.
