Under Armour has appointed Shawn Curran, who has spent over 30 years at Gap Inc, as its new Chief Supply Chain Officer.

Throughout his time at Gap Inc, Curran held several roles across its portfolio of companies, including serving as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Global Supply Chain across all seven Gap Inc brands.

Most recently as COO of Old Navy, he oversaw over 44,000 staff across over 1,200 stores, and managed end-to-end operations, inventory and sourcing.

In his new role at Under Armour, Curran will oversee end-to-end planning, product sourcing, manufacturing and quality, as well as "global vendor base management", distribution, logistics, global customs and trade, warehousing and sustainability.

Stephanie Linnartz, President and CEO at Under Armour, said: "Shawn is a retail industry powerhouse who comes to Under Armour at this critical time with the breadth and depth of experience that we need to optimise the backbone of our business, the supply chain, to ensure that our consumers get the right products, at the right price, at the right time."

Curran added: "It is an honour to be part of Under Armour, an iconic brand born out of a passion and maniacal focus on making innovative products that empower people to achieve their goals.

"I am excited to collaborate with the talented Under Armour team to enhance our supply chain, ensuring our consumers get the very best experience and highest quality products."

Last month saw Under Armour secure John Varvatos as its Chief Design Officer, having already started consulting for the brand earlier this year.

Varvatos, like Curran, has decades of experience in the fashion industry. His design expertise has previously helped grow a slew of iconic brands, including Polo Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Converse.
