Outdoor sports specialist Snow+Rock has opened its "statement" store at the Bluewater shopping destination in Kent.

At 13,000 sq ft the store, situated on the Upper Rose Gallery, is one of the brand's largest yet and stocks a range of snowsports clothing and equipment as well as luggage, footwear, camping equipment, clothing, electronics and accessories for climbing, walking and all other outdoor pursuits.

Brands on offer at the store, which was designed by an in-house team, include Arc’teryx, Fjallraven, Patagonia, Kjus, Icebreaker, Garmin and Rab. It also offers boot fitting and other servicing options for skis and snowboards as well as a Runners Need store offering running products and services, such as gait analysis.

“The opening of our store has been extremely successful as we revealed our new concept to Bluewater’s guests.  Working with [Bluewater co-owner and asset manager] Landsec has also been a very smooth process for us. Our focus on providing an in-store experience that will attract and engage with a wide audience will ensure we can convert the many guests through our doors to loyal brand advocates,” said Snow+Rock and Runners Need marketing and omnichannel director Paul McDermott.

Landsec portfolio director Russell Loveland added: “We are pleased to welcome Snow+Rock to Bluewater’s expanding experience-led retail offer. The statement store provides a unique service and one-stop shop for our active and adventurous guests.”

The opening follows the arrival of a number of international brands at the Bluewater mall including Alex & Ani, Coach, Kate Spade, Godiva and Neal’s Yard Remedies. Earlier this year, Smashbox, the Los Angeles based beauty brand, opened its first store in the South East at Bluewater, and global fashion retailer, Missguided, launched its first store outside London.
