Ray-Ban's Meta smart glasses are getting smarter with AI

EssilorLuxottica’s Ray-Ban is redefining the future of wearable technology with new AI-powered updates to its Meta smart glasses. In other words, Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are getting smarter.

The multimodal AI updates help wearers to understand the world around them by interpreting what they’re seeing and responding to what they’re asking.

Users, for example, can use the built-in camera to ask Meta AI for help writing a caption for a photo taken during a hike. The glasses can also translate text or help to identify objects such as exotic fruits.

What's more, Ray-Ban is introducing video calling, which gives consumers the ability to share their view on a video call with WhatsApp and Messenger. A simple double tap of the capture button during a call will switch to the glasses camera.

Chief Wearables Officer at EssilorLuxottica, Rocco Basilico, said: "The breakneck pace of innovation means that we are in a different place today than we were even yesterday. Consumers are already used to the idea that tech can be worn and woven seamlessly into their lives. Now they're asking, can it make me smarter? more creative? more productive?

"Ray-Ban Meta, particularly with the addition of Meta AI with Vision, is a bold leap forward in terms of what it can do for the person who wears them. We're delivering the next generation of superpowers, and we've tucked them neatly into the world's favourite glasses."

The Ray-Ban | Meta collection is available for purchase at Ray-Ban stores, Ray-Ban.com, Meta.com as well as select EssilorLuxottica retail stores including Sunglass Hut.
