The JCA | London Fashion Academy, spearheaded by legendary footwear designer Professor Jimmy Choo and set to open in September, has announced its scholarship scheme to create something special for its "Founding Year Cohort".
Announced in January, the Academy’s September spaces are filling up fast and to mark this first-year intake, the JCA will support talented students by offering scholarships of up to 30% of the fee. The size of the award will be based on merit and the financial need of the individual and will be available to all successful applicants on the JCA courses based at the Mayfair campus.
"The founding year cohort are very important to the Academy,” stated Professor Jimmy Choo. “We are truly inspired by the passion, focus and sheer determination of the applicants so far and we want to celebrate this landmark opening year by offering scholarships to gifted students and those who need support.”
The Academy has curated a syllabus inspired by Professor Jimmy Choo’s experiences in building his own luxury super-brand as well as the multi-faceted entrepreneurial skills which fashion designers increasingly need in today’s ultra-competitive multi-channel global landscape.
“Our vision for the Academy is simple,” said Stephen Smith, CEO and founder of the JCA. “We want to enable and facilitate the next wave of fashion designers to harness their imagination, develop and hone their creative craft and to inspire others around them. So we are thrilled to be able to support our student’s development with scholarships and look forward to welcoming the first year cohorts through the Academy doors this September.”
The JCA | London Fashion Academy will provide four carefully selected courses for its opening year:
- Foundation Diploma in Fashion
- BA (Hons) Fashion: Design, Branding and Entrepreneurship
- BA (Hons) Fashion: Design & Accessories
- MA Fashion Entrepreneurship in Design & Brand Innovation
The scholarship scheme is available to all applicants of Foundation, Degree and Masters programmes at the Mayfair campus. For more information visit: jca.ac.uk
