High street retailer, Primark, has announced the continued expansion of its WornWell concessions by the Vintage Wholesale Company – offering customers the opportunity to shop branded and non-branded pre-loved garments.

These concessions bring sustainably sourced vintage clothing and one-off items from the 70s, 80s and 90s at affordable prices to local Primark stores. These items include denim jumpsuits and shirts, spaghetti tops, printed sweaters and puffer jackets, with brands including Nike, Levi’s, Tommy Hilfiger, Converse and Dr. Martens.

Primark unveiled the first WornWell concession in its flagship Birmingham store one year ago and has since branched out into Manchester, Oxford Street East, Bristol, Cardiff and two Dublin-based stores in Ireland.

After a successful year, the retailer is now expanding the concession into two Newcastle and Glasgow stores. Newcastle shoppers can now shop the curated selection ofone-of-a-kind vintage offerings and Glasgow customers can expect to see WornWell in the Argyle Street store by the end of 2023.

Tim Kelly, Director of New Business Development at Primark, commented: "We are delighted to be expanding our partnership with the Vintage Wholesale Company to bring WornWell to two more UK stores this year, starting with Newcastle this week.

"At Primark, we’re always looking to partner with brands that our customers will love to ensure they have the best in-store experience possible, and this expansion is testament to just how successful the unique styles at WornWell have been with our shoppers. By the end of this year, WornWell will be in 10 Primark stores across the UK and Ireland, offering customers even more reasons to visit their local store."

This announcement comes at a time when retailers are investing in experiential stores. For example, Newcastle’s new WornWell concession, joins the Tasty by Greggs café. These partnerships, along with a host of other services, are available in select Primark stores as the retailer continues to invest in its in-store experiences, such as nail and beauty bars.

Director at The Vintage Wholesale Company, Riccardo Seaton, added: "Over the past year, we’ve been thrilled with how positively Primark shoppers have responded to this partnership. We're so excited to open another WornWell in Newcastle this week, with Glasgow following later in the year, and we look forward to growing our partnership with Primark even further in the months and years to come."
