Patrick Grant’s Community Clothing revisits London pop-up for Christmas

Community Clothing is returning to homeware store Pentreath & Hall, 17 Rugby Street in London, for its latest Christmas pop-up - running from 5-15 December 2023.

Founder of Community Clothing, and most famously a judge on ‘The Great British Sewing Bee’, Patrick Grant, will be on the shop floor all day on Wednesday 6 December to tell the brand’s story and answer any questions.

As previously, the pop-up will focus on the brand’s “knitwear heroes” including lambswool jumpers, hats, gloves, scarves and socks.

Grant, who established Community Clothing in 2016 as a social enterprise with a mission to sell great quality clothes “at prices people can afford” – using the best British factories and finest natural materials, said: “The shop is small, so we always stock the things people like most, and at this time of year, that's jumpers, knitted accessories and socks.

“In terms of location, I’m friends with Ben (Pentreath) and Bridie (Hall), and their interiors store on Rugby St is one of my favourite shops in London. For years now they’ve been lending us their lovely little pop-up space in the run-up to Christmas. It’s a tiny shop so it can, on occasion, get a bit rammed, but we love it.”

“Being online-only means people can't feel how great our clothes are. This gives them a chance to do that. It also gives us a chance to meet loads of our brilliant customers and tell the story to lots of new ones.”

Community Clothing is no stranger to pop-ups, having previously taken spaces in the likes of Selfridges, Liberty and Topshop, as well as at the Festival of Making, the British Textile Biennial and one on King Street in Manchester.

The latest London pop-up, which is located just off Lambs Conduit Street, will be open on most days from 5-15 December, from 11am – 6pm, though it will close on Sunday 10 and Monday 11 December.
