NEXT appoints new Non-Executive Director to support its Total Platform

NEXT has appointed Venetia Butterfield as an Independent Non-Executive Director, effective from 2 April 2024.

Upon appointment, she will become a member of the Nomination, Audit and Remuneration Committees.

Butterfield brings experience as an accomplished business leader and experienced marketing professional to NEXT.

She is currently Managing Director of Cornerstone, the largest adult division of Penguin Random House.

"Her successful leadership of an independent business within a larger conglomerate will be particularly helpful as NEXT steadily increases the number of businesses it takes on through its Total Platform initiatives," reads a statement from NEXT.

It follows the recent appointment of Amy Stirling as an Independent Non-Executive Director, also effective from 2 April.

Earlier this month, NEXT hiked its profit outlook after better-than-expected festive sales. It saw full-price sales jump 5.7% higher over the nine weeks to 30 December 2023, with growth of 10% in both of the final two weeks before Christmas Day.
