Dame Natalie Massenet has extended her term as chair of the British Fashion Council. The Net-a-Porter.com founder took on the post, which usually carries a tenure of three years, in January 2013.

Massenet, who quit Net-a-Porter.com in September following its merger with Yoox, was made a Dame in this year's New Year's Honours list for her contribution to fashion. She said she was "honoured and excited" to remain in the pro bono post for another 12 months.

"Over the past three years we have worked hard to deliver on our strategy and promise to build the profile of our industry and our businesses worldwide. Britain has some of the world’s most creative and innovative designers, and this is seen through the brands showing at London Fashion Week, London Collections Men, and British talent at the helm of global luxury brands,” Massenet added.

Past chairs of the British Fashion Council, which owns London Fashion Week and London Collections Men, include former Jaeger and Aquascutum owner Harold Tillman CBE and former Marks & Spencer CEO Sir Stuart Rose.
