Naomi Campbell welcomes an era of antibacterial fashion with Boss

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has levelled up from working with PrettyLittleThing to partnering with Boss on a 40-piece collection with an antibacterial finish – a nod to her well documented germophobia.

Yes, you might recall Naomi Campbell’s airport outing in 2020. The look – which was made up of a hazmat suit and a Burberry scarf - was caught on camera by paparazzi and shortly after swept the nation’s media outlets.

But, don’t forget the 2019 video of her wearing latex gloves as she cleaned her business class seat with antibacterial wipes before taking off to Dubai.

It comes as no surprise that the supermodel has managed to fuse her two greatest passions – fashion and germ-free living. The collection, inspired by her "fast-paced lifestyle" offers everything from sweatpants to sharp tailoring ranging from £60 to £745.

"These are the kinds of pieces that reflect my own lifestyle… always on the move, always ready for the next adventure, but never compromising on style", Naomi Campbell told The Guardian.

In a cheeky nod to the viral photos and video of the germophobe’s airport outings, she ensured designs such as double-breasted jackets and coordinating trousers were made from stretch wool with an anti-wrinkle finish – perfect for travelling.

What’s more, the pockets of blazers and waistcoats have been lined with a fabric that can block electromagnetic frequencies and prevent contactless card scamming.

This is not Campbell’s first foray into the designer hot seat. Last year, Pretty Little Thing announced a collaboration with the supermodel in June 2023. However, she faced scrutiny for collaborating with a fast fashion brand.

Campbell, who rose to fame in the 1980s after strutting down the runways of Versace, Chanel and more, is having a renaissance in 2024. Not only will she be collaborating with Boss, but she will also be honoured in an exhibition named 'Naomi' at the V&A this June.
