09 January 2024

N Brown Group has appointed Clare Empson as its new Director of Supply Chain, replacing Phil Barnes, who announced his intention to retire last year.

Empson joins the business from Ted Baker, where she held a number of senior roles within retail and transformation. Most recently, she served as Director of Operations from 2020-2023.

With over 25 years experience across the retail sector, Empson's appointment will support N Brown's transformation plans to create a customer-first experience with technology at its core.

Focusing closely on the customer journey, she will further strengthen the group’s senior team and play a "fundamental role in ensuring N Brown delivers an outstanding end-to-end experience for customers across all of its brands".

She will start the new role on 15 January 2024 and report directly to N Brown Group's CEO, Steve Johnson.

Johnson said: "I'm delighted to be strengthening out senior team with Clare's appointment. Clare joins at an exciting time in our transformation and her expertise will help us further deliver a first-class customer service preposition."

Empson added: "I'm excited to be joining such an inclusive business with a portfolio of well-loved brands.

"As the Director of Supply Chain, I'm looking forward to playing a part in ensuring that N Brown's customers receive an outstanding end-to-end shopping experience."
