Marks & Spencer confirms start date of new clothing chief

Marks & Spencer has confirmed the start date of Jill McDonald, the new managing director of Clothing, Home & Beauty; she will join the business on 2 October.
McDonald was formerly the CEO of Halfords and her appointment to the new role at M&S was confirmed in May of this year.
When she joins the business M&S CEO Steve Rowe, who has been holding the reins of the clothing business since he was promoted in April last year, will relinquish his Clothing, Home & Beauty responsibilities. CFO Helen Weir will also hand over responsibility for the Clothing, Home & Beauty Supply Chain & Logistics to McDonald.
