Mango shuts marketplace after two years

Mango has stopped selling third-party brands online as the business refocuses on its own sales channel and technological capabilities.

The company's marketplace venture launched in 2021 with the aim of expanding Mango's commercial service to customers.

It first incorporated Italian lingerie label Intimissimi, later bringing on beauty brand Rituals in May 2022.

However, Mango has now decided to end its third-party offer and refocus the business on its own operations.

Sources told TheIndustry.fashion: "After one/two years of operation, the company has decided not to continue offering these complementary brands to its offer with the aim of continuing to strengthen its own sales channel and its technological capabilities to offer better experiences for its customer."

The decision comes after Mango recorded online sales growth close to 10% during the first half of 2023.

As of 30 June, the company's online business reached 435 million sessions. By channel, the Mango App is currently the online platform with the highest sales growth.
