Kylie Minogue is the face of a new Jimmy Choo and Jean Paul Gaultier joint campaign launching today for a footwear collaboration between the two fashion powerhouses, "uniting an incredible trinity of pop cultural legacies".

Both brands have long-lasting connections with Minogue, who has performed several times in made-to-measure Gaultier creations and custom-made Jimmy Choo shoes over the last 30 years, making her the "natural choice to showcase this fashion fusion".

Shot by French photographer and film maker Valentin Herfray, Minogue debuts the new footwear collaboration, styled by her long-term friend Katie Grand in archival Gaultier ready-to-wear “icons”.

The striking images and playful film shorts "echo the inherent values shared by both houses – pop relevance, female empowerment and a rebellious je ne sais quoi".

The collection features a "capsule of greatest hits", blending the design codes of both brands with "Trompe l’oeil, sexuality, rebel elegance and couture craftsmanship".

“Fashion for me has always been about collaboration with like-minded creatives, and pure personal self-expression. Jean Paul Gaultier and Jimmy Choo have both been part of my fashion journey, and I’m thrilled to work with both of them to celebrate this exceptional collection. It’s our collective histories fusing, to create something fresh and new," Minogue said.

Sandra Choi, Creative Director of Jimmy Choo, added: "I am proud to say that Jimmy Choo is a name that has become part of pop culture. That’s true also of Jean Paul Gaultier, and of Kylie – we all speak beyond traditional confines, uniting different worlds, emblematic of female empowerment.

"That’s why Kylie was our first and only choice – she is truly iconic, modelling looks that unite the iconography of two houses and two cities, London and Paris."

Florence Tétier, Creative Director of Jean Paul Gaultier, added: "Jimmy Choo is like the Gaultier of shoes – craft meets rebellion. And Kylie is more than a musician, with a rich and deep history with both houses.

"When I think about design references and aesthetics, both our brands celebrate the strong female form framed through pop culture, a shared ideology that really stands out. Kylie is the embodiment of that."
