Sports and fashion retailer JD Sports has unveiled a striking new two-storey store at the Liverpool ONE shopping destination.

Designed by Brinkworth, the 40,000 sq ft store is located on Liverpool ONE’s Paradise Street, and features a double height glazed corner illuminated by the yellow and black JD Sports branding. It is one of the brand's largest stores in the world.

In addition to the glazed frontage, key features of the design include bespoke, transparent LED screens situated on the first floor balcony that allow live content to be played in-store but also clear vision onto the high street, as well as a dedicated JD football zone and a bespoke footwear chute that is the centrepiece to the footwear department.

Warren Thompson, head of acquisitions at JD Sports said its team had worked hard to get the store open in time for Christmas. “[...] we are delighted with the results. JD Sports has always excelled in Liverpool ONE, but this new store is set to take the brand’s performance to another level. We are very excited to welcome visitors to the spectacular finished product, combining the very best mix of brands and product lines with an outstanding experience for our customers,” he said.

The arrival of the new JD Sports store at the scheme follows the recent launch of Nespresso’s concept boutique located on Peter’s Lane, while other openings in the past six months have included independent performance and leisurewear brand realbuzz, Guess, Ben Sherman and Molton Brown.

Miles Dunnett from Grosvenor Europe, which owns Liverpool ONE, said the arrival of JD Sports was "a major moment for Liverpool ONE, and a fantastic endorsement of its status and desirability amongst leading brands".

"JD Sports adds to the excellent fashion line-up of stores at Liverpool ONE that are the very best representations of some of the most sought-after consumer brands in the world, including Zara, Apple, Victoria’s Secret, Beauty Bazaar Harvey Nichols, Michael Kors and Nespresso," Dunnett added.
