In pictures: The Industry meets Pearl Lowe

30 November 2017

The Industry staged an in conversation event with singer/songwriter turned fashion and textiles designer at W London – Leicester Square last night. The event was the first in a series of three that The Industry will be staging at the newly refurbished, luxury hotel in the heart of the capital, over the coming months.

Lowe was interviewed by leading fashion industry consultant Frances Card and won the audience over with her insight and honesty as she talked about her move from music to design and her recent return to women's fashion with her made-to-order dress line, produced in her home county of Somerset.

She revealed that her label, which also includes a luxury children's costume line, is entirely self-funded but she is considering the next steps which may including seeking investment to grow the brand. As well as discussing her business, Lowe revealed some surprising details of her personal life, not least of which was the fact she once recorded a song that ended up being used in a sanitary towel advert and that she is a highly proficient (and professionally trained) tennis player.

Guests sipped Skinny Prosecco and snacked on popcorn as they listened to the talk in the hotel's exclusive screening room.

The next event, featuring a panel discussion of leading female brand founders, will take place on 28 February 2018. Details will be posted in our Events section in the coming days.

The Industry would like to thank Pearl Lowe, Frances Card, the team at W London – Leicester Square for their support.
