In Pictures: Ashish showcases spruced-up Uggs on the runway
Footwear has become more of note this season at London Fashion Week. First Crocs teamed up with Simone Rocha, then Asics teamed up with 8ON8 and now Ugg has made its runway debut with Ashish.
Ashish made its return to the runway London Fashion Week‘s Spring/Summer 2024 season. The collection, 'Bejewelled forms of protest', celebrates queerness through tongue-in-cheek exuberant displays of colour and embellishments.
However, not only were the garments bejewelled, but so were the footwear, courtesy of Ugg. Southern California-based lifestyle brand Ugg's newest styles were customised exclusively for the Ashish runway show, which took place yesterday at the Nobu Hotel. Silhouettes featured include the Classic Dipper, Tasman X, Goldenstar Clog, Tasman Weather Hybrid and Tasman Slipper.
Ashish commented: "It was really interesting to juxtapose UGG shoes with evening gowns and highly embellished pieces of clothing. It provided for really textural counterpoints and storytelling.
"We used metallic and pastel-coloured sequins to mirror the embellishment on the clothing throughout, the dragon fruit pink UGG Tasman’s were covered in hand painted floral graffiti and scribbles."
