HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE celebrates its 10th anniversary this year by releasing an exclusive collection honoring its technical craftmanship.
Issey Miyake, who passed away in 2022, was celebrated as one of the world's most pioneering designers for the materials he worked with, from traditional Japanese materials and paper to plastic and metal. He developed a new way of pleating fabric by wrapping it between layers of paper in a heat press, which resulted in his signature pleated designs that never wrinkle.
The DECADE series will comprise of the brand's iconic pleated garments in 7 colours ways including teal, black and mustard
New York-based photographer Henry Leutwyler has commemorated the anniversary with striking still life images of elements of the production of the garments including buttons, measuring tape and scissors.
The collection will launch on November 11 at the Issey Miyake London store, 33 Brooke Street.
