Harry Styles – pop star, style icon and beauty brand founder – can now add fashion investor to his CV after it was revealed that he had taken a stake in British label S.S. Daley.

Styles, who has enjoyed great success with his beauty brand Pleasing, was revealed as a backer in the S.S. Daley label following its appearance as the guest designer at this week's Pitti Uomo trade fair in Florence.

In a statement the brand's founder Steven Stokey-Daley, who has dressed Styles on a number of occasions, said: ”Harry and I have a shared vision for the future of S.S. Daley and we look forward to this new chapter together as we focus on brand longevity and scaling the business into a modern British heritage house."

The terms of the deal were not disclosed but it is said that Styles, who was introduced to the designer by his stylist Harry Lambert, has taken a minority stake in the label. The investment will be used to boost the brand's direct-to-consumer business and enable its long-term expansion plans.

Hailing from Liverpool, Stokey-Daley set up his label, known for its gender-fluid designs offering an eccentric take on British heritage style, after graduating from the Westminster Fashion Design BA in 2020.

Styles' stylist Lambert picked up his graduation collection and his designs later featured in Styles' music video Golden. Stokey-Daley was awarded the LVMH Prize for young designers in 2022, and shortly after was awarded the British Fashion Council Foundation Award for Best Emerging designer.

Harry Styles is known for his fearless take on fashion and likes to support up and coming designers, as well as established names, with favourite labels including S.S. Daley, Harris Reed, Molly Goddard, JW Anderson and Gucci.

In 2021, Styles launched his Pleasing range of gender neutral cosmetics beginning with nail polish. The range has since expanded to include skincare, fragrance and branded merchandise. Last year the brand took over The Corner Shop temporary retail space at London's Selfridges store.
