Gucci unveils "Gucci Grail" NFTs in its latest metaverse venture
Gucci has teamed up with NFT (non-fungible token) project 10KTF for its latest metaverse collaboration. The project includes a floating virtual world called "New Tokyo", fashion accessories for NFT owners to purchase with profile photos, and a fictional character named Wagmi-San.
The Italian luxury house shared a teaser of the project via its experimental spin-off brand, Gucci Vault, on Twitter and Discord, revealing the making of a "unique and personalised NFT envisioned by Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele and carefully crafted by Wagmi-san."
The "Gucci Grail" NFTs will be officially unveiled on 23 March, and minted on the Ethereum blockchain. With 10KTF already offering digital accessories including sneakers and bags, fans are anticipating the launch of a Gucci NFT wearable, which would be a first for the luxury house.
The whitelist registration for the collection's Mint Pass opens today until 11 March on NFT marketplace, OpenSea. The Mint Pass is a single-use pass which grants holders the ability to mint an NFT from the 10KTF Gucci collection.
