Finalists for LVMH Prize revealed as Pharrell Williams and Phoebe Philo join jury

Eight finalists for the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers 2024 have been revealed, as well as news that rapper and Men’s Creative Director at Louis Vuitton, Pharrell Williams, and Phoebe Philo, Artistic Director of her eponymous label, have joined the jury.

The finalists for the 11th edition of the prize are Paolo Carzana (from the UK), Julian Louie’s Aubero (US), Duran Lantink (Netherlands), Hodakova by Ellen Hodakova Larsson (Sweden), Marie Adam-Leenaerdt (Belgium), Niccolò Pasqualetti (Italy), Pauline Dujancourt (France) and Standing Ground by Michael Stewart (Ireland).

They will present their final collections at the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris on 10 September 2024. Williams and Philo join a jury which already boasts designers Jonathan Anderson, Marc Jacobs, Kim Jones, Nigo, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Nicolas Ghesquière, Silvia Venturini Fendi, Dior CEO Delphine Arnault and Advisor to Bernard Arnault at LVMH, Sidney Toledano (formerly CEO of LVMH Fashion Group).

Delphine Arnault said: "The semi-final of the 11th LVMH Prize highlighted the diversity and richness of the candidates’ creative approaches. The semi-finalists showed great expertise in terms of craftsmanship and a strong commitment to sustainability.

"The finalists’ designs range from entirely hand-made collections to eveningwear, and include upcycled designs.

"I’m delighted to welcome Phoebe Philo and Pharrell Williams to our jury. The jury and I will be joined by the eight shortlisted designers at the final on 10th September at the Louis Vuitton Foundation."

The winner of the LVMH Prize will be awarded €400,000 (£344,000) and the winners of the Karl Lagerfeld Prize and the Savoir-Faire Prize will receive €200,000 (£172,000). Additionally, all winners will receive a one-year mentorship with LVMH teams.
