Fashion’s famous faces pay tribute to Dame Vivienne Westwood at memorial service
British and international fashion elite flocked to Southwark Cathedral for a memorial service today to offer final goodbyes and celebrate the life of the 'Godmother of Punk', Dame Vivienne Westwood.
Not only did tartan-clad friends and family gather, but also some of the biggest names in fashion, including Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham. Crowds formed as famous faces came together to celebrate Britain's first true superstar fashion designer, known across the globe for her iconic looks - from punks to pirates, corsets and tweeds.

Many attendees adorned themselves in Westwood’s designs, from tartan accessories to love-heart-shaped handbags and bright tailoring. The opulent displays of Westwood’s creations exemplified the assembled mourner's wishes to remember the late designer as a revolutionary and eccentric woman.

Paloma Faith, Elle Fanning, Lily Cole, Tracey Emin, Edward Enninful, Sir Bob Geldof and Dame Anna Wintour were among the famous faces attending the service. From actresses and singers to artists and politicians, Westwood’s cultural influence touched those across a wealth of industries, showcased by today's diverse audience.

Many obituaries reflected on her extraordinary position in the global fashion industry that she had created for herself. Pioneer. Icon. Legend. Iconoclast. Activist. These were only some of the descriptions used to describe the legend that was, and still is, Dame Vivienne Westwood.
