eBay launches Notting Hill Carnival-ready sneaker edit
eBay has partnered up with Notting Hill Carnival to create a sneaker-focused edit, curated by carnivalist sneakerheads, in celebration of the 1966-founded annual Caribbean festival.
The ‘eBay x Notting Hill Carnival hub’ showcases carnival sneaker culture as well as shares top tips from self-proclaimed sneakerheads.
Data reveals that sneaker searches spiked by 365% in the run-up to Carnival. Therefore, eBay has teamed up with Carnival OGs and members of award-winning Mas band, Mangrove to compile the edit of must-have footwear.
Nicole Fox (Mas player), Tremaine Facey (Steelpan player) and Renaldo La Rose (Carnival DJ) share their eBay Authenticity Guaranteed sneaker selects for Panorama, J’Ouvert and the main event which takes place this Bank Holiday Weekend, 26 - 28 August.

The carnivalists curated a list of their top picks for this year’s festivities, prioritising both comfort and style. These are as follows:

Nicole Fox, of Mangrove, added: "Carnival is the essence of authenticity - it’s emancipation, it’s freedom and it’s about self-expression.
"When it comes to picking kicks for Carnival the most important thing is how I can be an individual. At Panorama, the band is in uniform so box-fresh kicks that will shine and give me a bit of exclusiveness are a must. When I’m playing Mas, it’s all about colour coordination and not overshadowing my costume. I pick kicks that complement the feathers or smaller details whilst still being comfortable and complementing my look."
Taking this collaboration one step further, eBay x Notting Hill Carnival is hosting a Carnival Creps competition, to encourage carnival goers to dive into their collections and step out in their favourite sneakers.
Situated on the corner of Westbourne Park Road and All Saints Road, on 27 August, sneakerheads have the chance to win £750 to shop the ‘eBay x Notting Hill Carnival hub’. Two runner-up prizes include a £100 and £50 voucher.
