Dylan Jones
With men’s fashion week wrapped up in London, The Industry will host the grand homme of men’s glossies, Dylan Jones at the Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design. Having helmed GQ magazine for 15 years, the formidable editor sits right at the heart of what is probably the most important period for British menswear in recent history. Jones is the face of the magazine – and also the chairman of the British Fashion Council’s London Collections: Men.
On the 28th January, Dylan will meet with Industry member, Sarah Penny, editor of the world’s largest news and contact provider, Fashion Monitor, to chart the rise of British menswear. Cutting his teeth at i-D, The Face and Arena in the 80s, Dylan has been in the publishing game for years. How has he managed to keep up circulation in an era of plunging men’s magazine sales? And as the London Collections: Men schedule starts to give London Fashion Week a run for its money (especially in the sales department), how can the wider fashion industry capitalise on the creative and commercial importance of this new market?
