Donatella Versace kicks off book tour in London
Donatella Versace will be kicking off the promotional tour of her new book VERSACE, the publication of which was revealed last month, with two personal appearances in London.
She will first take part in a talk at the V&A at 7pm on 4 December followed by a signing at the Harrods Versace boutique at 1pm on 5 December.
The events will consist of a meet and greet with dialogue between Donatella, the public and groups of students from some of the most prestigious fashion and design schools. The VERSACE book will be explained personally by Donatella, who will narrate her interpretation of Versace in the 21st century and her career as the "curator and face" of the house, a position she began in 1997 following the untimely death of the brand's founder and her brother Gianni.
VERSACE, published by Rizzoli, is a contemporary portrait of the Italian house seen through Donatella eyes, with accompanying original essays penned by fashion’s most authoritative voices. It features photography by Richard Avedon, Steven Meisel, and Mario Testino among others as well as images of the brand's fashions modeled by the “original supermodels” such as Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, and Linda Evangelista.
