Daniel Fletcher exits Fiorucci to focus on own brand

Fashion and lifestyle brand Fiorucci has announced that British-born designer Daniel Fletcher is stepping down from his role as Menswear Artistic Director by the end of this month.

The parting ways were reportedly amicable, with Fletcher leaving to focus on his namesake brand. Fiorucci's Resort 2024 collection will be his last for the brand.

Fletcher told WWD: "I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together during my time here and have had so much fun along the way. It has been an honor to contribute to this brand that has such a rich history, and I wish Fiorucci all the best for the future."

Daniel W. Fletcher, a Central Saint Martins Alumn, previously worked with Louis Vuitton, Victoria Beckham, Burberry and Lanvin. The designer turned heads in 2016 when he debuted his namesake label in the form of an anti-Brexit protest instead of an a-typical runway show or catwalk. This same year, Opening Ceremony bought his graduate collection and produced eight of his designs for spring/cummer 2016.

Since then, he earned the title of runner-up in Netflix's 'Next in Fashion' and took the helm at Fiorruci in January 2020.

During his three-year stint at Fiorucci, he expanded the brand's offering of casual wear. Previously, the Italian-founded brand focused on angel-clad T-shirts and jeans, but now it offers ready-to-wear collections.

However, Fletcher continued to pursue designing under his own name. His 'casual luxury' designs are renowned for reflecting his thoughts on current affairs and social issues.

Just last week, he presented a collaboration with 174-year-old Savile Row tailor Huntsman in London as part of the fall 2023 collection.
