Bristol streetwear independent Cooshti has launched a sunglasses collaboration with Danish eyewear brand MessyWeekend, as part of the retailer’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

The dual branded black oversized square frame acetate sunglasses are now available instore and on the Cooshti website, priced at £75.

Collaboration details on the product include the Cooshti logo and ‘93 TIL INFINITY’ printed on the inside temple arm, as well XXX – signifying the three decades Cooshti has been going, on the outside arms. The sunglasses also come in a dual branded pouch.

Speaking on the collaboration, Cooshti owner Steve English (photographed wearing the sunglasses) said: “MessyWeekend is a sunglasses brand that sells really well in store, as the shapes and colours are really on point and they’re a great price point for premium acetate sunglasses.

“We also like the fact that for every pair they make they help facilitate cleaning up ocean plastic, so when they offered us a chance to collaborate on a pair for our 30th anniversary we thought it was a great match with both of our passions for music, skate and urban culture.”

MessyWeekend Co-Founder and COO, Mads Koch Petersen, who established the brand in Copenhagen in 2018, added: “Cooshti is an iconic streetwear retailer in the UK and still being independent is a big plus for us. Our ethos aligns very well with them and collaborating with Cooshti positions the brand exactly where we want to be in the UK.

“The collaborations was initiated by our UK sales agent, Jake Ivic, who has a good relationship with Steve. We worked with Steve to select the best design to reflect his store in the best way possible.”

A launch event in celebration of the collaboration and the retailer’s 30th anniversary took place at the Cooshti store at 57 Park Street in Bristol on Friday evening. More collaborations for the 30th are planned throughout this year, with details yet to be revealed.
