Burberry to return and Raf Simons to debut as BFC reveals provisional LFW schedule
The British Fashion Council (BFC) has today released a provisional London Fashion Week (LFW) schedule which will see Burberry returning to London and Raf Simons making his LFW catwalk debut.
The provisional hybrid digital-physical schedule for LFW, taking place from 16-20 September 2022, features over 110 confirmed designers.
The Raf Simons men’s and womenswear catwalk show will take place at 8pm on Friday 16 September, while the Burberry men’s and women’s catwalk show will be at 6pm on Saturday 17 September, followed by a JW Anderson womenswear show at 8pm on the same day.
This year’s BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund winner Richard Quinn will be returning to the schedule with a womenswear catwalk show at 8pm on Sunday 18 September, and BFC Fashion Trust recipients Completedworks, Richard Malone, Supriya Lele and TOVE will also be featuring during LFW.
The BFC NEWGEN show space will also return to The Old Selfridges Hotel, and as its official partner TikTok will support the next generation of British design talent to reach a wider audience globally. Participating BFC NEWGEN designers include Bethany Williams, S.S. Daley, Leo Carlton, Sinéad O’Dwyer and ASAI.
Additionally, returning this season is City-Wide Celebration, a curated programme of unique experiences and activations open to the public over LFW, “spearheaded by inclusivity and consciousness”, moving the fashion conversation forward through industry wide participation and partnerships.
The programme is an extension of LFW aiming to unite London in a festival of creativity and innovation, hosting events and activations in partnership with key retailers, cultural institutions, and businesses.
The full and final LFW schedule will be released in mid-August and will include further updates and specific information regarding the format of each activation.
