Swedish footwear brand Axel Arigato is set to open a 2,500 sq ft flagship store on Earlham Street in Covent Garden’s Seven Dials, adding to its existing London location at 19-23 Broadwick Street in Soho.

The new store will house the brand’s range of footwear as well as its menswear, womenswear and accessories in an open gallery-style space, "curated to allow the products and collaborations to take centre stage".

Michelle McGrath, Executive Director at London landlord Shaftesbury Capital, said: "Curating a destination that offers a comprehensive line up of the best in class experiences, from both British and international brands, forms a key part of our retail strategy for Covent Garden and its Seven Dials neighbourhood.

"We are therefore delighted to welcome a young and dynamic concept like Axel Arigato. A forerunner in innovative footwear, leading with an emphasis on quality, craftsmanship and longevity."

Adding to the retail mix in Covent Garden, Axel Arigato will join the likes of HOKA, which opened its European debut store at 2-3 James Street in October 2023, GANNI and Arc’teryxwhich is set to open its new and upsized flagship store at 42 King Street in the spring.

Additionally, within Shaftesbury Capital’s Seven Dials neighbourhood, Odd Muse and Missoma have both opened on Monmouth Street, marking their first permanent bricks-and-mortar flagship stores, while leading British shoemaker Loake and French men’s skincare brand Horace have both recently opened on Neal Street.

Axel Arigato was founded in 2014 and has built a reputation for cutting edge designs, frequent new drops and footwear that is hand crafted in Portugal using high quality materials such as fine Italian leathers, calfskin linings and Margom rubber soles.
