ASOS chairman Adam Crozier lined up to take over at BT
ASOS could soon be on the search for a new chairman as Adam Crozier is being lined up to take over the chairmanship of BT.
Crozier, a former chief of the Royal Mail and ITV, is expected to succeed current BT chair Jan de Plessis and it is believed that in doing so he will stand down from the online fashion giants. He is expected to retain his chair roles at Whitbread and Kantar however.
ASOS appointed Crozier to take over from former chair Brian McBride in July 2018. He is one of the UK's best known senior executives having been CEO of ITV until June 2017. Prior to that held senior director positions at Saatchi & Saatchi, Vue International, G4S, the Football Association and the Royal Mail.
BT's du Plessis is expected to stand down later this year but BT has not confirmed that the a new chair has been appointed saying only that the process is incomplete at this stage. However multiple media reports say that Crozier has landed the role having seen off competition from former BBC Trust chair Rona Fairhead.
