ASOS appoints new Non-Executive Director
ASOS has announced the appointment of Wei Gao as its new Non-Executive Director, effective 1 February 2023.
As part of this, Gao will serve on the Audit committee, which is chaired by Patrick Kennedy.
Gao is currently a Venture Partner for financial service business, Madrona. Prior to this, she served as Chief Operating Officer at online events platform, Hopin. Gao has also held a number of senior roles at Amazon, including Vice President for Grocery Tech, Product & Supply Chain.
Jørgen Lindemann, ASOS Chairman, said: "On behalf of the board, I want to welcome Wei to ASOS. Wei joins us with a depth of relevant industry knowledge across international ecommerce. The board will greatly benefit from Wei´s expertise, and we look forward to working closely with her."
The announcement coincides with the appointment of Mai Fyfield as Chair of the Remuneration Committee, effective 1 January 2023.
Earlier this month, ASOS announced the departure of interim Chief Financial Officer Katy Mecklenburgh, who will be leaving the role in 2023 after accepting a new role as CFO at Softcat.
