ZARA partners with Bad Bunny for exclusive collection

ZARA is partnering with Puerto Rican pop star Bad Bunny for an exclusive collection launching in the UK on 21 May.

Entitled “Benito Antonio”, in a nod to the pop star’s given name, the collection pre-launched in the ZARA store at Plaza Las Américas in the singer’s native country this weekend, with Bad Bunny himself making a well-documented appearance.

The launch signals the start of the singer’s renewed push into the world of fashion and beyond.

As can be seen in the widely circulating social media footage from the pre-launch, the collection encompasses a range of ready-to-wear items, including shorts, shirts, jackets and sweaters, as well as caps and other accessories.

The unveiling of the collaborative collection follows Bad Bunny wearing a white ZARA suit for his performance at the Super Bowl halftime show in February, where he delivered one of the most stand-out fashion moments of the year.

At the show, the singer also showed off the BadBo 1.0 trainer, his collaborative design with Adidas, marking another entry into the world of fashion.

A white suit, clearly inspired by the outfit the singer wore at the show, also features in the new collection.

More recently, ZARA also dressed Bad Bunny again for his appearance at the Met Gala, which was held on the first weekend of May.

In a clever marketing move, the collection launches globally, including in the UK, just one day before the singer kicks off the European leg of his global tour, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour”. On 22 May, he is scheduled to perform in Barcelona, before moving on to the UK in June.

The launch also hints at the singer’s ambitions to expand his influence beyond music.

The distinctive lettering that spells out the singer’s name on the announcement of the ZARA collaboration is part of the singer’s newly registered logo, according to industry reports. Not only does it feature prominently throughout the new collection, embroidered on caps and printed on T-shirts, it was also previously spotted on the chair where he prepared for the Met Gala.
