Zalando raises outlook as profits climb following ‘About You’ acquisition
Online fashion retailer Zalando has raised its full-year guidance following "strong growth" in the second quarter, ending 30 June 2025, and its acquisition of rival fashion retailer About You on 11 July.
Second quarter revenue grew by 7.3% to €2.8 billion (£2.4 billion), and adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (adjusted EBIT) reached €186 million (£162 million), representing a stable profit margin of 6.5%.
Business to consumer (B2C) growth saw a 6.1% surge in the number of active customers during the quarter, reaching a new high of 52.9 million.
Meanwhile, continued investment in customer experience with the launch of AI-driven discovery feed is expected to deliver "even more personalised inspiration and boost organic customer engagement".
Business to business (B2B) growth also maintained strong momentum, driven by double-digit growth in ZEOS fulfilment, as well as the launch of a new Shopify application that connects Shopify merchants directly to the ZEOS platform.
Additionally, NEXT is now leveraging Zalando’s fulfilment infrastructure for its largest European market, Germany, after already using ZFS for the majority of its Zalando-based business.
In the second half of the year, NEXT will expand the collaboration to include its own webshop and additional European marketplace business. Zalando will also continue to expand its multi-channel fulfilment by increasing the number of merchants and sales channels supported by ZEOS.
Following the completion of its acquisition of About You, Zalando will also keep investing in strategic growth opportunities.
