Zalando appoints ex-Walmart executive as SVP of Corporate Development

Zalando has strengthened its senior leadership team with the announcement of Padmaja Bommareddy as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development.

In her new role, she will be responsible for identifying and executing opportunities for the fashion platform that will help Zalando deliver on its existing business strategy.

Bommareddy joins Zalando from Walmart where she helped lead the American retailer's apparel omni-channel strategy. The German-based company added that she has worked in Europe, Asia and the U.S. and will bring an "important global perspective" to the role.

Commenting on her appointment, Robert Gentz, co-CEO of Zalando said: We are delighted to welcome Padmaja to our team. We are looking forward to working together on exploring new opportunities to further elevate our services and offerings and grow the company."
