Zalando appoints new CFO to support next phase of European growth
Zalando has appointed Anna Dimitrova as Chief Financial Officer and member of its Management Board, effective 1 January 2026.
The Berlin-based fashion and lifestyle e-commerce platform said Dimitrova brings "deep financial expertise, a strong strategic mindset and proven leadership".
Dimitrova joins from Deutsche Glasfaser, where she currently serves as Group CFO. Before that, she held senior roles at Vodafone Group, including CFO of Vodafone Germany and Czech Republic and Strategy, Corporate Development & Integration Director for Vodafone Germany. In the latter role, she led the integration of Kabel Deutschland and Unity Media following major acquisitions.
Kelly Bennett, Chairman of Zalando’s Supervisory Board, said: "Anna combines deep financial expertise, a strong strategic mindset, proven leadership of large cross-functional teams, and an exceptional track record of driving transformation.
"She is the perfect choice to complete this strong group of Management Board executives and work with Zalando’s first-class teams to seize the exciting opportunities ahead."
Dimitrova will succeed interim CFO David Schröder, who has been serving in the role since March and will now refocus on his position as Co-CEO.
Dimitrova added: "I’m excited to join Zalando at such a pivotal time, when its updated ecosystem strategy is opening up fresh commercial opportunities in both B2C and B2B to serve consumers and partners across Europe even better.
"Zalando is proof that Europe can produce growth companies for the digital age. I’m excited to work with everyone to accelerate growth, expand margins and drive strong cash generation at scale across Europe."
The appointment comes as Zalando advances its ecosystem strategy, expanding beyond pure e‑commerce into a platform model serving both consumers and partners. The company has also been strengthening its leadership team. Earlier this month, it hired L’Oréal executive as Vice President, signalling its ambition to build beauty into a major pillar of its fashion‑and‑lifestyle ecosystem.
This comes during a period of continued growth for Zalando. In August, it raised its full-year guidance following "strong growth" in the second quarter, ending 30 June 2025, and its acquisition of rival fashion retailer About You on 11 July.
